DSD Legacy scholarships

 

In Honor of D’ymond Shant'yl DANTZLER

This scholarship is in honor of the late D’ymond Shant’yl Dantzler, who was known as a top scholar in every educational institution she entered. Continuing her life’s work, this scholarship empowers young women to continue their education by providing tuition assistance to Maryland students graduating from high school. In order to receive the award, the student must display outstanding academic achievement, community service and completion of the application requirements in full.

The scholarship will be open for application from March 1st 2019 until 11:59 pm on May 15th 2019. No extensions will be granted. Please find the guidelines and application linked below.

IN HONOR OF SAMMY L. BYRD

The Sammy L. Byrd Life Enrichment Scholarship is in memory of a man who was determined to assist the women he loved to achieve their educational goals. This scholarship is presented by the DSD Legacy Foundation, Inc. in memory of D`ymond’s grandfather who was vested in D`ymond’s educational career.

It is the goal of DSD Legacy Foundation to provide tuition assistance for an unmarried female undergraduate or graduate student. Applications will be accepted from April 2, 2019 until 11:59 pm July 1, 2019.

Congratulations to Nadiyah Williams!!!    Nadiyah is our 4th Annual Dymond Shantyl Dantzler Legacy Scholarship Award recipient. Nadiyah is graduating from Charles Herbert Flowers High School in Prince George’s County, Maryland with dual enrollment at Prince George Community College. She has a 3.6 G.P.A. with over 200 hours in community service. In addition she is a member of National Honors Society and the National English Honors Society. Nadiyah achieved this while also holding a part-time job at Chick-Fil-A and being a member of the track and field team. Nadiyah also found time to be a peer leader, mentor young females and be a part of a college bound program that prepares her for college and public speaking. After graduation, she is headed to Spelman College  where she will major in Chemisty in order to become a Forensic Pathologist.
